Soaking tub – Bath fitter cost – Greenglobals tub

In the mid-20th century, the previously trendy clawfoot tub evolved into an in-line bath with a short apron front. The enclosed design was more maintenance friendly and, with the introduction of colored sanitary ware, provided the consumer with more design flexibility. It was not until the Crane Company introduced colored bathroom fixtures to the United States market in 1928 that easily available design options and easier cleanliness and maintenance began to drive claw-foot style tubs to near extinction.
Fiberglass bathtubs became the new standard for homes in the 1960s because they were so light in weight, inexpensive, and of rather a vague composition, in contrast to cast iron, often with a bad reputation.
